What would have really helped me get started is making the federal regulations easier to digest. As a soap maker, I had to bounce all over the web to try to cobble together which regulations apply to me - not only on the federal level, but at the state and local level as well. If there was a site that matched your business to a list of all the regulations that apply, I would be in heaven.

Imagine if you had access to a "Start-Up Concierge." This person would 'hand hold' you and your start-up through the regulatory processes and permits. Your concierge would actual be one of a network throughout multiple federal, state and local jurisdictions. Their goal would be to bring as many new businesses on line in the shortest amount of time. The "Start-Up Concierge" is not the gatekeeper, but rather the locksmith ... unlocking the bureaucratic hubris that unnecessarily cause delays and expense.
