CPSIA

Although I totally appreciate the need to be concerned about lead and appreciate the CPSIA regulations, I believe that these regs came about because of off-shore products. As US manufacturers we already have a laundry list of regulations to insure safety...from clean air to material handling. The CPSIA requirement for additional testing is yet another layer of expense, time and paper trails. As a US manufacturer ...more »

Buy American Campaign

Recognize low priced imports are undermining the manufacturing opportunities in the US. Unemployment will continue as today's consumers choose to buy off-shore low priced products. This has not only effected the manufacturing segment of business but the service segment as well. Outsourcing and warehousing has become the norm for the US.

Please fix the patent system. Eliminate trivial patents.

Please fix the patent system. Eliminate trivial patents. I am a Co-Founder of a tiny (3 people) startup company creating Android apps. We recently got a patent infringement notice from Lodsys for the following features in our Android app: * A link from our free "Lite" version to our paid "Full" version * The use of "seconds" as a unit of time Clearly such a patent is an obstacle to innovation in the US. How To Create Jobs, Now In This Economy

I suggest you... with our economy needing to create 250,000 to 300,000 jobs each month to sustain a healthy economic recovery, move with all deliberate speed before we enter into another downturn. The President and Congress can act now to create needed jobs by changing the laws governing Social Security to allow 9,600 baby boomers who will be retiring each day over the next 18 years to take partial distributions of $20,000.00 ...more »

U.S. Small Business Policy Lacking

Support U.S. small business growth overseas. Virtually all foreign countries support their own small businesses when operating overseas. U.S. agencies like DoD, USAID, State Department and USTDA clearly favor doing business with large U.S. companies, but small contracts, ideal for U.S. small businesses are instead given to foreign companies despite lower bids and good solutions. The same rules that apply to small businesses ...more »

Reduce the word count of Federal Regulations.

Direct every Federal agency to reduce the number of words in their regulations by 20% per year. They can start by eliminating all of the provisions that were superseded by subsequent ones. Then they can rewrite the regs in "English", not "Legalish". In a few years it will be possible to actually review the content of what's left and figure out what doesn't make sense, and eliminate that. The SBA can go first to ...more »

EPA and cng conversion of late model vehicles

I was considering starting up a low cost cng conversion business to convert gas guzzling vehicles to cleaner burning cng but the EPA says they must be certified by them which then doubles the price of converting these vehicles and makes it impractical and too expensive for the average person. I suggest that the EPA do a one time certification on the kit itself and that would give the business and the consumer an incentive ...more »
