I suggest that the answer to increasing jobs is to use existing technology to continue to increase productivity in the manufacturing area and put American workers in a position where we can compete in a global economy. Americans need to out produce workers in all other countries. The law of supply and demand will determine the market for labor and products.

Many individuals work as sub-contractors when they are really employees. These "sub-contractors" have no health insurance and no insurance for injuries on the job. I believe a clarification of the status "employee" be made and government regulations can follow-up on "employee"/"sub-contractor complaints with authority to remedy this abuse of human potential. There are many ideas listed here which are complicated and expensive. The free market will make the final decisions. Business requires regulation as unregulated profit results in abuse of employees, consumers, and inferior products and/or services. Health insurance also becomes a part of the problem as countries with universal health care are subsidizing their own businesses and causing competition problems for American ...more »

Most small businesses fail in the first three years. I would not recommend throwing money at the problem because much of the money will be waisted. Americans are very good at judging if a product or service is worth purchasing. I am concerned about large corporations who literally have huge monopolies like that auto industry. Americans are very good at judging if a product or service is worth purchasing. I am concerned about large corporations who literally have huge monopolies like that auto industry. I have been waiting for a long time for an automobile which gets good gas milage and so far I have been disappointed. The automobile industry can stop any innovation in gas milage improvement and it seems clear that auto companies do not compete on this issue.

I suggest that all surgical procedures be recorded with cameras and placed on CDs which become part of the medical record. This would protect patients and doctors from errors by doctors and frivolous litigation by patients.

I believe that labor unions have erected barriers to productivity. I have always supported unions because employers tend to abuse their employees. There is a long history of Labor Unions in the US and many people have given their lives in a fight against large corporations who are abusing employees. I suggest that Unions and Corporations agree to disagree with the long term goal of creating profit for the company. ...more »

I suggest that Unions and Corporations agree to disagree with the long term goal of creating profit for the company. Without profit, you have no jobs and no products or services.

America and the planet has a serious problem with poverty, discrimination, and preventable challenges. Programs which can give people hope for the future can help with productivity and dealing with serious problems.

I suggest that entrepreneurs that are interested in providing a product or service be encouraged to work on their idea. My experience with entrepreneurs in general is that they only wish to make money. Profit is important to all business but profit at any cost results in more poverty, abuse of employees, and inferior products. Sincerely Harry Hansen

Please consider a method to remove Felony convictions for non-violent offenders who have a proven track record of responsible behavior. I was arrested for "Intoxication" at the age of 23 and this was an ordinance violation but I have had to list it on almost all applications for employment since then; 38 years ago. I have had no arrests since then and I do not use alcohol. Many young people who come from difficult ...more »
