Direct every Federal agency to reduce the number of words in their regulations by 20% per year. They can start by eliminating all of the provisions that were superseded by subsequent ones. Then they can rewrite the regs in "English", not "Legalish". In a few years it will be possible to actually review the content of what's left and figure out what doesn't make sense, and eliminate that. The SBA can go first to ...more »
I heard about this really cool idea that was invented in Italy hundreds of years ago that might do some good here. People get together and pool their excess cash, which is then loaned out in the local community to help businesses with their capital needs. They call it a Bank.
We should bring all of the troops home from Europe and Asia immediately. At the very least they will by their clothes, gasoline, food and restaurant meals in the USA instead of wherever they are now, immediately creating jobs for all the people who sell it to them.
I suggest you legalize marijuana at the federal level and let the states decide what to do about it. Many will follow rather quickly, creating jobs in cultivation, distribution and retail, tax revenue for the government, an improvement in our trade balance, and a bit less revenue for the drug gangs.
I suggest you hire the Mafia to do distressed SBA loan workouts. I've been through it with both and when it comes to integrity and dependability, the Mafia has the SBA beat hands down. They might get a little rough at times, but you can negotiate with the Mafia, know what they agree to will stick and they move fast.

Recent studies show that renewable energy is the fastest growing sector in the economy, and is creating the most jobs, and generating power that is less expensive than than new conventional energy (even if it does cost more than conventional energy from old fully depreciated power plants that are due for replacement). But, the United States is one of only ...more »
I suggest we give ten million $100,000 dollar grants to entrepreneurs. Make it a lottery that you enter by passing a basic screening for the obvious flakes. It will cost the same as the bank bailout, so let's monitor the results and see how many jobs we create. Easy to predict more since the bank bailout didn't do squat except keep a bunch of overpaid idiots from getting the boot, which they so richly deserved.
I suggest we dump Obamacare and replace it with National single-payer catastrophic health insurance, severing once and for all the job and innovation destroying linkage between healthcare and employment and allowing entrepreneurs to risk their fortunes without also having to risk the health of themselves and their families.
How about giving a Trillion dollars to Goldman Sachs and the rest of the banking gangsters? Oh wait! We already tried that. Nevermind.
Given the budget crisis, we can only afford initiative that don't cost a dime so here's one that will make money for the government. Stop all subsidies and tax preferences for conventional energy supplied by existing commercial energy companies. That will generate revenue for the government, reducing the deficit, while marginally raising the cost of conventional energy and reducing the gap between it and renewables. ...more »
