$1 Billion For Entrepreneurs Choosing Entrepreneurs Incubators

Allocate $1 billion from the US Treasury to making loans in the amount of $10,000 to $100,000 to main street entrepreneurship.

Use the existing network of CDFIs (i.e, Neighborworks) and an incubator program like www.vilcap.com to allocate the funds. Vilcap lets the entreprenuers themselves choose who gets a loan - and entrepreneurs are much better at due diligence then investors or bankers.

We need to give all the... more »

US Gov should help inventors secure intl. patent rights

Consider how many Americans there are who have viable, patentable inventions but cannot afford to get international patent rights. If the gov. reduced such barrier and actually helped such innovators protect their new products, these could be manufactured and/or sold internationally and tremendously strengthen our national economy while reducing the trade deficit.

Let innovative people be innovative.

Quite simply ... stay out of it and back out of it from status quo. Entrepreneurs are the epitome of the American Dream... go and making your life be what you want it to be. I am not anti-government in any way... but EVERY Barrier currently in Entrepreneurs path is the result of some Gov. initiative. The freedom to succeed for innovative people is only restricted by programs that were initially built to guarantee they... more »

Entrepreneurial mentoring program

Entrepreneurism is not something that can be learned in the classroom. It has to be learned in the field - actually doing it.

Coordination between high school and college - and the local small business community would provide a "transition bridge" for young entrepreneurs to hone their skills. At the same time the program would provide needed energetic talent to help small business adapt to the future.

Reducing the Costs for Access to Legal Services

Entrepreneurs are significantly disadvantaged without access to legal expertise. But such access is constrained by limited start-up financial resources. I've had success working with groups (usually up to 10) of entrepreneurs in a group setting to cover general legal/business issues and then scheduling one-on-one time for specific legal issues. This has the effect of pooling financial resources so it is collectively profitable... more »

Giving more Investors the right to invest

Please consider looking in to the accredited investor designation. While 1 Million net worth or 200K-300K in income is a good definition by the SEC it limits the amount of people who can invest in a start-up. Why not have it be a % of your net worth or income that you can invest. For example if you have a liquid net worth of 200K allow the investor to invest up to 10% or 20K. California has a rule that could be applied... more »

Invest in our youth through a ChangeMakers program

Imagine a web site or portal with a variety of different people on it, people looking for career or entrepreneurial assistance. For the sake of argument – let’s limit it to young people. Each of these individuals, let’s call them ChangeMakers – would have to put up a profile or online portfolio. These portfolios would be a “Here I am world, this is what I’m all about and why you should invest in me.” The portfolio could... more »

Tax Credit for hiring college interns at liveable wage

Suggest provide a tax credit for hiring 1 or 2 college student interns that are paid a liveable wage. Right now in technical fields, big companies hire a lot of interns to "select" permanent hires. Small companies have a hard time time competing for the "best & brightest" because they cannot afford to hire interns as a selection tool. It would also allow the students to pay down some of their college debt.

Pass the FairTax

Pass the FairTax, HR-25. Nothing could be more stimulative than removing the corrosive effects of the current income tax policy and economic inefficiencies it creates.
